BASIC SCIENCE CURRICULUM AT BIU
The basic sciences program at the Burnett International University School of Medicine and Health Sciences consists of five semesters of didactic, laboratory and pre-clinical education. The main objective of the five academic semesters is to provide the student with fundamental knowledge in Anatomy, Histology, Embryology, Biochemistry, Medical Ethics, Physiology, Behaviors Sciences, Microbiology, Neuroanatomy, Biostatistics & Epidemiology, Pharmacology and Pathology. The basic science curriculum described below is offered at the Campus of St Kitts and may be completed in 5 semesters. Each credit is equivalent to 15 lecture hours or 30-45 hours of laboratory work or clinical practice.
