The office of Students Affairs coordinates and supervises programs, services and facilities on the Campus with the assistance of professional staff trained in different areas.
HOUSING FOR STUDENTS
Burnett International University does not provide or supervise campus housing facilities. Housing is also available in the neighboring communities. The Office of the Dean of the Student Affairs will direct students to rental Agencies who are willing to assist students to find local apartment and private rooms in close proximity to the campus. Two or four months’ Advance rental payment may be required for rental housing and a security deposit which is usually equal one month’s rent. Students should request housing information from the Admissions’ Office.
STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE
Student health insurance is available through independent agencies. All students attending BIU in St. Kitts, Haiti and/ or in the United States need Health Insurance coverage. Health problems will be addressed by student’s health care provider; therefore, proof of health insurance is mandatory at BIU before or during matriculation. Further details will be found at the Admissions Office.
MEDICAL EVACUATION INSURANCE
Students at BIU are required to have Medical Evacuation Insurance in St. Kitts or Haiti campus. This insurance Policy covers students in case there is a medical emergency to evacuating such students from St. Kitts. Enrollment in the medical evacuation insurance is mandatory. The premium amount is $70 US per semester per student. It is due at the beginning of each semester.
LIABILITY INSURANCE
Every student must have liability insurance during Clinical Rotations at any BIU affiliated Hospitals. Students will be provided further information regarding liability insurance upon Admission to the Clinical Rotations in the U.S, England or the Caribbean.
